Welcome to the Lummibeader Online Homepages!

This is our Native American Beadwork center where you can find any kind of traditional beadwork that is made with traditional values with Native hands in the artistic expressions of Lummi Nation Bead Artist, Debi Solomon-Carter.  She is a member of the community of the Lummi nation in the pacific northwest.

All of the beadwork that is found on this site are made by her and use the most appropriate materials that can be found today.  She has learned from her Elders who have shared their knowledge and spirits with her.  She is a beautiful person who shares something of herself in each piece she makes.

Many of the cultures displayed here are from other nations, but include northwest coastal themes or thoughts within them.  Her nation is of the Northwest Coastal Salish family, and traveled throughout the Puget Sound region of Washington state.  Historically, the Lummi people were the "Special" people mentioned with in the Mormon bible, that relates the story of Jesus' travels.  There are several stories regarding a light skinned man walking down out of the clouds and appearing to people and sharing with them.  The Lummi people are also known as the Salmon People.

Throughout my life I have always been a creative person and my personality shines in my beadwork.  I am including some of my most recent custom projects and pieces that reflect the determination and peacefulness of my spirit.  Native American culture honors those in the community who walk a different path, and my path is always changing.  I enjoy walking in the forest with my 2 girl dogs and to watch the way that life weaves past us everyday.

The picture of my most recent special project is shown to the right.  There are also many other displays of my beadwork and Native crafts.  I have listened to many Elders, and taken their guidance to heart and practiced my craft with a prayer in my heart and on my lips.

There are many other interests and concerns that are important to me, and to some I have added a special page to them and their concerns or importance to Native people, according to numerous traditions, beliefs, and communities.  I hope that this site offers you a varitey and makes you feel welcome that you will want to return or share with others who may enjoy a visit here.  May the sunshine bless your journey and fill your heart with peace.
